Heat Lovers

These plants are amazing!  They hardly ever ask for water and seem to bloom more as the heat becomes more intense.
Before I got my camera and before I started this blog, I never looked this closely at the plants in my yard.  This is stage 1 of the crepe myrtle blooming.  It looks like purple colored popcorn.


Here's stage 2 and 3 of the crepe myrtle blooming.  You can see the crepe myrtle popcorn popping out the white bud in the background and the beautiful watermelon colored bloom in the foreground.
