I Love Surprises!

I love a surprise rain shower, especially when Texas is in a severe drought.  I also love the surprise guests that show up in the yard and allow me to take photographs of them.

Sometimes it's the simple things that surprise us the most.

Rain drops on the nandina bushes.  You can see the reflection of the green shutters in one of the drops.

I have a new treehouse guest in the backyard.

This little dickens would barely stay long enough to take his portrait.

More rain in Buda

We got a pretty good rain last night and it was still drizzling this morning.  Of course I had to get out this morning with the camera and see what had been perked up from the rain.

It's amazing how much the morning glory has grown on the fence in just a few days.  What a bargarin at about $.89 for a packet of seeds.

Here's another weed that was too beautiful to pass up.

Finally, Rain in Buda!

It was a long, slow, drizzly rain...but I'm sure the flowers enjoyed the cool shower.

This is the photograph I am entering in the Gardening Gone Wild Picture This Photo Contest.  May’s theme for the contest is ‘Lighting: A Closer Look’.
